There is no usage charge for this microscope. Training is free.
Our free training covers all the basics of the microscope and image acquisition. Training about 30 minutes, and you can take it any day between 9am and 1pm (except Thursdays). Contact PCIC in advance to make sure that we are available to provide the training.
The hourly fee for DM5500 microscope is $2.50 an hour. Training is provided free of charge on any day (except Thursday) between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. However, we will need to process a billing "DM5500 authorization form" before your usage.
The hourly fee for the confocal microscope is $25 an hour. The training fee is $80 (3 hours general training).
The 3 hour training session covers all the basics of the microscope and software. If need, we can adjust the training to cover specific areas of interest. Training is usually provided to up to 3 people at once, and does not require users to bring any samples.
Following this general training session, a one hour hands-on session is offered to practice on your own samples. This hands-on session has to be scheduled with PCIC, so that you can be sure that the facility manager will be available to help you.
Training is provided every Thursday morning, from 9:30am to about 12:15pm. However, we will need to process a billing Confocal Authorization form at least 24 hours before the training session.
Following completion of training, additional assistance is available free of charge between 9:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. (except Thursdays).
